What Do I Do?

I have always appreciated the quote by Benjamin Franklin, “An Investment In Knowledge Pays The Best Interest.”  It is for this reason that I have made education a lifelong pursuit, as well as why I focus so heavily on educating my clients.  I believe that the more knowledge each of my clients possesses the better our relationship tends to be.  In particular, I pride myself on having the ability to take complex financial concepts and breaking them down so that the average person can understand them.  This has led me to the following 6 points that I believe are imperative to every clients investment success:

  • A general understanding of how the economy operates aids one in understanding why investments perform in a particular manner during different economic cycles.
  • True diversification employs the use of assets in addition to stocks, bonds, and cash.
  • Every asset has a fair value and that value will be reflected over time.
  • Risk is tangible and cannot be completely detached from an investment. However, the compensation one receives for taking on risk can be managed.
  • Each client has a specific appetite for risk that cannot be ignored.
  • Providing ongoing information is imperative to a client's success.
